Terms of Service

Last updated 26 August 2026

The short version. Use SoopaFood lawfully, only save content you have the right to use, and use your own judgment when cooking. Your recipes remain yours. We need permission to process them only so we can provide the service, and you can ask us to delete your account and its data at any time.

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) apply when you use the website at soopafood.com, the app at app.soopafood.com, or a SoopaFood browser extension (together, “SoopaFood” or the “service”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Who may use SoopaFood

You must be at least 13 years old to use SoopaFood. If the law where you live requires you to be older to agree to online services, you must meet that age requirement or have a parent or legal guardian agree on your behalf.

Your account

You are responsible for providing accurate account information, keeping your sign-in credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@soopafood.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You may not use another person's account without permission or create an account by impersonating someone else.

Your recipes and other content

You keep any ownership rights you have in recipes, notes, meal plans, shopping lists, and other content you add to SoopaFood. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service for you. This license ends when the content is deleted from the service.

You are responsible for the content you save or upload. Only import, copy, or share content when you have the right to do so. Saving a recipe in SoopaFood does not transfer ownership of the original recipe, photograph, video, website, or other third-party material to you or to us.

Acceptable use

You may not use SoopaFood to:

Cooking, nutrition, and food safety

Recipes and related information can come from users, outside websites, social platforms, or automated processing, and may contain errors. SoopaFood does not guarantee that ingredients, quantities, instructions, cooking times, nutrition information, or dietary labels are accurate or complete. Check the original source when in doubt.

You are responsible for checking allergens and dietary restrictions, handling and storing food safely, and cooking food to temperatures appropriate for your circumstances. SoopaFood is not medical, nutritional, or other professional advice. Seek advice from a qualified professional when you need it.

Third-party services and content

SoopaFood may link to or process content from websites and services we do not control, including Google and social-media platforms. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices. Your use of Google Sign-In is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.

Our service and intellectual property

SoopaFood and its software, design, branding, and original content are protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these Terms, we do not grant you rights to them. Feedback you send us may be used without restriction or compensation, but you are not required to provide it.

Availability and changes

We work to keep SoopaFood available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Features may change, be limited, or be discontinued. The service is currently offered without charge; if we introduce a paid feature, we will show its price and any additional terms before you buy it.

Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using SoopaFood at any time. You can request deletion of your account and associated data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users, comply with law, or address a serious or repeated violation of these Terms. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, SoopaFood is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, SoopaFood will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will not exceed US $100. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in a state or federal court located in Colorado, unless applicable law gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will update the date at the top of this page and, if a change materially affects your rights, provide reasonable notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after the updated Terms take effect means you accept them.
